Building Construction 1

ASSIGNMENT 1: EXPERIENCING CONSTRUCTION: EXPERIENCING, DOCUMENTATION AND ANALYSING CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

AS A GROUP, WE HAVE TO SELECT TWO ONGOING CONSTRUCTION SITE WHICH VISIBLY COVERS MOST OF THE CONSTRUCTION STAGES. THE SITES WE SELECTED ARE BOTH LOCATED IN CHERAS, KUALA LUMPUR. ONE IS A BUNGALOW HOUSE OWNED BY AN DIRECT OWNER AND THE OTHER SITE IS OWNED BY A DEVELOPER, WITH A FEW ROWS OF RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTING.
THEN, WE HAVE TO IDENTIFY DIFFERENT TYPES OF BUILDING ELEMENTS AND ITS CONSTRUCTION PROCESS, DETAILS AND MATERIALS. WE ARE REQUIRED TO PRODUCE A DOCUMENTATION INCLUDING ALL THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS, METHODS AND MATERIALS IN DETAILS, IN THE FORM OF SKETCHES, DRAWINGS, PICTURES AND WORDS.

THROUGH OUT THIS ASSIGNMENT, I'VE BETTER UNDERSTANDING ON THE WHOLE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS AND METHODS OF A MEDIUM OR LOW-RISE RESIDENTIAL BUILDING. BESIDES THAT, I ALSO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE OPTIONS OF DIFFERENT CONSTRUCTION METHODS AND STYLES, THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF A SPECIFIC METHOD, STYLE OR MATERIAL. 


ASSIGNMENT 2: INTEGRATED CONSTRUCTION DETAILING / DRAWINGS
THIS PROJECT IS AN INTEGRATED PROJECT WHICH INVOLVES CONSTRUCTION DETAILING OF ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN STUDIO 2 FINAL PROJECT. 
MY TASK IS TO EXPLORE, APPLY, DOCUMENT AND EXPLAIN 3 ARCHITECTURAL DETAILING TO BE USED IN STUDIO 2 FINAL PROJECT, WHICH INCLUDES ROOF, SUPERSTRUCTURE AND FOUNDATION.
THE DETAILS ARE TO DRAWN MANUALLY WITH VISUAL IMAGES, ANNOTATED SKETCH AND DRAWINGS ABOUT THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS, METHODS AND MATERIALS TO BE USED. EVERYTHING COMPLETED IN AN A2 PRESENTATION BOARD. 


AFTER COMPLETING THIS PROJECT,I'VE DEVELOPED AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS IN CONSTRUCTION AND ITS APPLICATION.I'M ABLE TO ANALYZE WHAT TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION METHODS AND MATERIALS ARE SUITABLE FOR DIFFERENT SITUATION. I'VE ALSO HAVE BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF HOW TO RESPONSE BUILDING CONSTRUCTION TO THE PRACTICAL CONSIDERATION, SO THE STRUCTURE CAN HAVE ITS MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE.
